Smarte Mechanical Seal
Smart integration of the M3G multisensor into existing mechanical seals
Smart integration of the M3G multisensor into existing mechanical seals
Enables online condition monitoring of mechanical seals and can be integrated in the existing seal
Learn more about one of the most important innovations in sealing technology that is one step ahead – the first field-proven, sensorised mechanical seal. Mechanical seals are the industry standard for sealing rotating shafts in pumps. Seal damage leads to costly production downtime, which can be avoided. More and more major brands are already involved in projects to realise Industry 4.0. Develop your business further through these industrial changes, which offer opportunities for both large and small companies.
BestSens’ innovative sensor solutions provide maximum transparency and reliability for monitoring mechanical seals in rotating equipment. A solution that every user of mechanical seals must be aware of if they want to be successful in the market environment of Industry 4.0.

We provide you with a plug & play solution so that you too can equip your pump series with smart seals.
For this purpose, we combine the more than 30 years of sealing know-how of our strong partner METAX Kupplungs-und Dichtungstechnik GmbH with our sensor know-how. Together we will find solutions for your requirements in terms of installation space, media resistance, practicality, certifications and the possibility of modularisation and integration into your product portfolio.
The BeMoS one controller and the interface of the web app visualise your machine data so that you have an overview at all times and everywhere.
For this purpose, the typical drive train of a pump was set up on a small scale as a demonstration gate in cooperation with the company METAX Kupplungs-und Dichtungstechnik GmbH. The demonstration gate consists of a drive that can accelerate the drive shaft to up to 2,300 rpm via a belt. A deep groove ball bearing as a fixed bearing and a cylindrical roller bearing as a floating bearing hold the shaft in position. The sensorised mechanical seal, as well as rolling bearing monitoring and axial thrust measurement can be demonstrated live.
In front of the floating bearing is a sensorised mechanical seal equipped with the M3G sensor from BestSens. The mechanical seal can be easily dismantled and lubricated with water for dismantling purposes. Since no liquid flows in for lubrication of the sliding pair during operation, the seal very quickly enters an operating state with increased wear and then runs dry. The BeMoS one controller switches off the demonstrator when either dry running has been detected on the seal or the temperature on the mating ring rises above 100°C. This prevents the seal from running dry. The switch-off prevents the seal from breaking.
