Welcome to the DOT platform – your solution for efficient condition monitoring and sensor-based monitoring of rotating equipment. Our innovative technology enables pump manufacturers and plant operators to keep an eye on the condition of their pumps at all times and to react proactively to potential problems. By integrating advanced sensor technology into the mechanical seals, we offer a reliable solution to detect wear and prevent failures. With the DOT platform, you can thus optimise the operation of your pumping equipment, extend the service life of your pumps and minimise unexpected costs.
In our product packages, our previous measurement technology platform BeMoS one is combined with suitable sensors and components to monitor a wide range of potential causes of faults on rotating equipment.
The DOT platform’s advanced ultrasonic measurement technology makes it possible: space- and energy-saving, as well as cost-efficient and scalable.
Installed directly on the pump, there will be several variants of the DOT that record different measurement data. This information is then sent to the control room, for example, and can also be accessed directly via a web app. In order to also be able to offer mechanical seal monitoring via this new platform, the sealDOT will follow the vibDOT next.

The Dot Companion app is an application for use on mobile devices such as smartphones. Its primary purpose is to set up the communication interface with a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition System (SCADA system), set measurement parameters and display measurement data from BestSens DOTs.
The app consists of different views, each of which performs specific functions. The following views are available:
List-View
DOTs within – Bluetooth LE 5.3 (BLE) signal range of the user’s device are displayed as DOT entries in a list. Once discovered, the DOT remains in the list, even when it is out of BLE signal range (greyed out).
Detail-View
In the Detail-View a BLE connection between DOT and user device will be established (BLE bonding and optional pin input). The DOT metrics are displayed as tiled gauges. The gauges visualize the latest metric measurement values and its thresholds, if any are set.
Detail-View (Timeseries-Chart)
The time series graph displays the live measurement data of the corresponding metric over the time range during which the BLE connection with the DOT is active. If a database is used to record the metric values, the graph can visualise arbitrary periods.
DOT-Event-Log-View
The DOT-Event-Log-View could serve several purposes. For example, performance monitoring, fault detection and diagnostics, maintenance planning and predictive maintenance, historical analysis and auditing, decision support and reporting, incident investigation and forensics.
DOT-Settings-View
In the “Settings” view, users can configure various parameters of the DOT unit. In this way, users can customise the unit to their specific requirements. Other settings include notifications and alarms, data logging and storage, and firmware updates and maintenance.
Attention: The app is currently in development phase. The functional and visual elements described may change in the course of development.

In this respect, we are guided by the specifications of our customers. In addition to the vibDOT, there are the following components:
The interaction of the components enables the smooth integration of the DOT platform into your own process and server structure.
The splash-proof DOTbox contains a PoE switch for power supply and data connection of several DOT sensors as well as an LTE router if you want to rely on a mobile data connection.
The DOT platform is rounded off by software packages for mobile and stationary data connection. The DOT Companion app gives the user a quick overview of all DOTs within Bluetooth range and their status. With the app, one can pair with the active DOTs via Bluetooth and thus retrieve and visualise current measurement data as well as the events since the last connection.
The DOTserver software package is a container that contains various applications for receiving, storing and visualising the measurement data of the DOT sensors via MQTT. In addition, alarms and different notification paths can be configured. The DOTserver package can be installed on any PC or server, as it is based on Docker technology and can be set up almost anywhere in the world thanks to the internet connection. Customers with their own infrastructure can also fetch the measurement data directly from the DOTs via OPC-UA or MQTT and process them further in their own control centre, for example.
Both the vibDOT and the sealDOT have the advantage that they are connected to the switch via PoE. In contrast to a battery-powered solution, this enables a continuous data stream that can transmit results several times a minute. The sealDOT is attached directly to the housing via a thread and is not only able to measure the temperature on the pump housing, but also directly in the seal.
