We’re making a wave.

Usually more than one!

〰️
Our sensor products use state-of-the-art ultrasonic technology in which specially configured piezoelectric actuators generate guided acoustic waves (GAW). That’s how we can offer precise monitoring and quality control using advanced ultrasound technology.

〰️
These waves, which can be excited in a wide frequency range from around 200 kHz to 1 MHz, propagate completely contact-free (non-invasive) along the substrate and enable highly sensitive and precise measurements.

〰️
Our technology focuses in particular on Rayleigh waves and Lamb waves:
Rayleigh waves are surface-bound waves that travel along the surface of a solid.
Lamb waves are guided waves that occur in “thin plates”, where the wavelength is in the range of the substrate thickness. They can occur in different modes.
Through mode conversion (the conversion of energy), both Rayleigh and Lamb waves continuously radiate energy from the solid into an adjacent medium such as water or oil. This energy exchange between the substrate (e.g. sliding ring, plain bearing bush) and the fluid (e.g. lubricating film) makes it possible to draw conclusions about its condition.

〰️
A particular advantage of our technology lies in real-time monitoring. The continuous recording and analysis of acoustic signals makes it possible to provide immediate feedback on the status of the monitored system. This makes a significant contribution to process and product quality by allowing potential problems to be identified and rectified at an early stage.
